Receptionist (P/T) – Tampa
Metro Wellness and Community Centers is looking for a part-time Receptionist (Bi-Lingual preferred) for our Tampa office.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be able to work 3 days (12-15 hours per week)
- Be able to work nights and weekends
- Have a professional demeanor
- Have basic computer skills
- Have prior office experience.
Basic responsibilities include:
- Answer Multi-Line Phone System and handle heavy incoming call load
- Direct Clients and walk in's to correct individuals or programs
- Open and close building
- Manage the Cyber Center
- Help with events held at community center
- Work on Administrative projects (example: verifying inventory, compiling mailings, shredding, etc.)

Medical Educator
Full & Part time Positions available in Pinellas and Pasco Counties
The Medical Educator works with individuals living with HIV/AIDS to educate on the importance of treatment and medication adherence. The Medical Educator also assists the client in becoming or maintaining adherence by accompanying them to their medical appointments, linking to services, providing 1-on-1 and group support.
Qualified applicants must have the following:
- Ability to speak, read, and write proficiently in English. Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to understand and use word processing and basic computer software programs.
- Knowledge of HIV as it relates to medical adherence and treatment.
- Two years experience within a social service setting or equivalent preferred
- Bachelors Degree in health related field preferred or comparable years of qualifying experience in related healthcare activities.
- Must possess Valid Florida driver’s license, have accessible transportation and proof of insurance.
- Must pass necessary fingerprinting and background checks.

We are looking for an Office Manager for our Tampa office. This position is responsible for the organization and coordination of office operations, procedures and resources to facilitate organizational effectiveness and efficiency regarding: building, equipment & supplies, security and other office programs.

Community Health Care Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Assess individuals to determine which programs would be best for their needs and current circumstances. Conduct participant enrollments, and administer program specific questionnaires and follow-ups according to prescribed contract and organizational guidelines. Provide an ongoing assessment of the participant’s needs and link them to requested and needed services to improve their financial, emotional, and physical well-being. Assist with group facilitation and other activities.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assesses eligible individuals to determine their appropriateness for the program and groups.
- Conducts needs assessment and intakes on qualified individuals, and provides referrals to behavioral health, intensive inpatient/outpatient programs, and supportive services as needed/requested.
- Maintains contact and follow-up with participants (e.g. phone calls, postcards, home visits) to increase retention.
- Maintains accurate and updated information (e.g. incentives, attendance, conversations, referrals, etc...) in participant files.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation of all enrollments, and completes paperwork in its entirety.
- Ensure that all participant files are organized, complete, and updated in accordance with DCF licensing, IRB, program, and organization standards.
- Administers appropriate questionnaire evaluations and follow-up to program participants at Baseline (intake), Exit, and Follow-up intervals.
- Ensures that all participant data is complete, thorough, and updated consistently in the databases.
- Submits accurate time sheets and other reports to the Program Coordinator by prescribed deadlines.
- Provides HIV Testing and Counseling services as requested.
- Assists Health Intervention Trainers with preparing for group intervention, distribution of program incentives, and other activities as needed.
- Assists team by facilitating and/or co-facilitating support groups and peer advocacy groups
- Attends outreach activities and events as requested.
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to understand and use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic computer software programs in order to perform job effectively and efficiently.

- Must be comfortable facilitating or co-facilitating group interventions and activities
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to reach goals and attend community events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree in a health related field, or comparable years of qualifying educational/work experience.
- Must have at least one year of experience working within a substance abuse, human, or social service setting.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Must maintain personal, reliable, and accessible transportation for travel throughout the Tampa Bay Area.
- Must obtain HIV/AIDS 501 Training certification within 3 months of employment.

Position Filled – Behavioral Health Program Support Specialist
The Metro Wellness Center is hiring a full time program support specialist for our behavioral health program.
This position supports the operations of the behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and engaging, able to work well with clients and staff and capable of coordinating billing and fiscal reporting of all behavioral health services. Responsibilities include, scheduling and coordinating all client appointments, tracking client services, orienting clients to the behavioral health programs, maintaining and monitoring all client charts for accuracy, preparing charts for internal and external audits, billing for services and generating fiscal reports.
Bachelors degree preferred. Candidate must have experience with LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) and HIV Issues. Prior work that included client contact and billing/fiscal reporting strongly preferred. The Metro Wellness Center has offices in St. Petersburg and Tampa. This position will require time at both locations.
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Therapist
PURPOSE:
The therapist’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Provide individual, couple, and group counseling. Experience with HIV/AIDS and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) community strongly preferred.
2. Maintain all clinical documentation as required by professional standards and legislation including but not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, psychosocials, etc.
3. Maintain licensure and current knowledge of HIV and LGBT related issues.
4. Will participate in team meetings and supervision of clinical duties.
5. Will provide consistent follow-up to clients in need of clinical services.
6. Undertake other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Position requires a Master's degree in clinical social work, mental health, or related field and an active state of Florida psychotherapy license (LCSW, LMHC, or similar).
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment is strongly preferred.
- Certified Addictions Specialist is a plus.
- Experience with LGBT and HIV/AIDS related issues strongly preferred.
- Computer skills and familiarity with local community resources and government assistance programs (SSI, SSD, Medicaid, and Medicare) also preferred.

HIV Testing & Prevention Specialist (P/T) – NPR
Case Manager
- Key functions include:
- Arrange supportive services for clients including assisting client with completing Medicaid applications, food and transportation referrals, insurance assistance, and more.
- Work collaboratively with medical providers, other community partners, members of client’s treatment team, and other agency personnel.
- Accurate and complete documentation of activity through case notes, assessments and other forms.
- Advocate for appropriate services for client based on need and assessment.
- Foster client independence though informing clients about systems of care and teaching the client to navigate these systems whenever possible.
- Conduct visits with clients in varying settings including in the community and the client’s home when necessary.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write proficiently in English. Language requirement may vary by position.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS.
- Awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences, varying sexual orientations, and psychosocial issues concerning the AIDS pandemic.
