Black & Empowered: Mental Health

Did you know that, in a 2018 survey, 16% of Black and African American people living in the US reported having a mental illness? That’s almost 5 million people! Additionally, 22.4% of those reported serious mental illness.

That same year, 58% of Black and African American young adults (18-25) and 50% of adults (26-49) with serious mental illness did NOT receive treatment. Why? Let’s talk about it.

Join Metro Inclusive Health for a round-table discussion on all things mental health, including personal experiences, inequities in care, considerations when looking for a therapist, unpacking stigma, the power of supportive community spaces, and more. Thank you to sponsor Trulieve for making this series possible.
