In addition to METRO’s full-time testing locations listed below, be on the lookout for our mobile testing centers at community events across Tampa Bay! METRO’s Health Units offer FREE rapid HIV and Hep C testing, and prevention education resources.

METRO provides free HIV testing to our community.

Completed by drawing a blood sample for the lab. This 4th generation HIV testing is considered the best available and is able to detect the virus in as little as 10-14 days from exposure. Results are provided within 3 days.

The Orasure test is an oral swab test sent to the Health Department for processing with results provided within 2-3 weeks.

A simple finger prick test with preliminary results available in 15 minutes.
