Now serving Pinellas and Hillsborough County Jail systems, METRO can help HIV+ inmates with their transition into the community by providing access to essential services through Project RE-LINK, including:

Our goal is to assist former inmates maintain their health and stability in order to lead continually productive lives while avoiding further incarcerations.

Assisting individuals living with HIV/AIDS released from a state or federal prison, Project H.I.R.E. provides health improvement services within Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. This includes direct case management services through Linkage Case Managers that ensure comprehensive medical care, medication, and community needs are being met.

Individuals released to any other County in the state of Florida are linked to an AIDS Service Organization where they live. Some of the services available through Project H.I.R.E. linkage include:

  • Intervention Programs
  • Vision
  • Dental Care
  • Employment and Job Training Services
  • Food, Clothing, Transportation, and Housing Assistance
  • Help with Obtaining ID Cards & Birth Certificates
  • Incentives and More

The goal of Project H.I.R.E. is to provide access to any services that will help the individual with an easier transition back into the community.

For office visits, we accept Medicare and are expanding our participation in most health insurance plans (call for an updated list) with self-pay options available.
