James Keane connects the LGBTQ community with his work at Metro Wellness

When James Keane moved from Boston to Florida in 2007, he reached out to Metro Wellness & Community Centers to utilize its services.

The nonprofit organization, established in 1993, provides quality health and wellness services “that are inclusive, relevant, supportive and represent the lifetime continuum of the diverse people in our community.”

Keane noticed the value and importance of Metro’s work and quickly rose in the ranks from volunteer to the dual role of director of LGBTQ programming and development, and now solely director of development.

“I have the opportunity to speak with people and share how impactful the services and programs offered to the community are and what meaningful work that is,” Keane said.
