Statement of Purpose: This Program Support Specialist position is focused on tasks directly related to the Health Center and reports to the Lead Program Support Specialist. The position provides vital support, organization, and management of information for Health Center services & other programs/services as needed. The Program Support department is an integral part of organization, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of data which is used for (but not limited to) reporting, measuring and improving health outcomes, and quality assurance.

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Data is entered into various software and other programs including excel spreadsheets, web-based applications, and other customized databases.
  • Perform basic data analytics. Filter and sort data; calculate means and standard deviations; or measure correlations between sets of data.
  • Summarize and provide reports to program staff, executives, and external funders
  • Perform follow up on data to measure improvement and outcomes.
  • Receive, compile, and analyze patient satisfaction survey data, provide summaries to executive staff.
  • Receive and file medical faxes in electronic medical record
  • Contact clients/patients via telephone for appointment reminders, collect payment, and additional communications as needed by the health center.
  • Determine patient eligibility for various copayment funding streams.
  • Coordinate transportation for patient medical appointments.
  • Complete referrals for patients, coordinate appointments to external providers per referral.
  • Conduct follow-up to ensure that appointment was attended and medical record from the appointment is received.
  • Complete accurate and detailed documentation within the electronic medical record for all referral coordination.
  • Support other departments with clerical, data and reporting needs.
  • Other tasks as relevant and assigned.

Education/Professional:

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated proven experience in a position with relatable tasks
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a health care setting, social services, or public health environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office programs (advanced level Excel is a requirement)
  • Experience working with electronic medical records and data systems software (Power BI experience is preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Critical thinking is a must
  • Ability to communicate well both written and verbally.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and excellent organizational skills

Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Must have reliable and accessible auto vehicle.
  • Must pass necessary fingerprinting, Level II background checks and employment eligibility verification through the U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system, https://e-verify.uscis.gov/emp
