Statement of PurposeThis position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department in all administrative functions.

 Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of employee personnel files to ensure accuracy of its content and maintain human resource information system
  • Maintain all documents required to be kept in the employee personnel files, medical files and electronic files
  • Prepares personnel files for audit or regulatory review
  • Maintain active and terminated I-9’s per records retention requirements
  • Maintain/update mandatory employment posters in the employee break room
  • Conducts reference and background checks for volunteers and new employees
  • Communicate with new employees and process hiring related paperwork.
  • Assist in recruiting events/recruiting process; assist in identifying and selecting potential candidates for open positions
  • Assist orator with employee orientation as needed
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participation in professional societies.
  • Promotes and practices METRO’s mission and values, and follows its policies and procedures.
  • Ensures confidentiality and discretion is maintained at all times as related to employee and personnel matters and patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and organization standards.
  • Help with administrative activities surrounding recruitment


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Administrative experience and organizational skills required. HR prefered
  • Experience in use of human resources information systems

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of computer software programs: Microsoft Office, Adobe, and HR information systems.
  • Detailed data entry skills and ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to coordinate several tasks at one time.
  • Able to work with minimal direct supervision and exercise initiative.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Strong organizational skills


  • Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Must have reliable and accessible auto vehicle.
  • Must pass necessary fingerprinting, Level II background checks and employment eligibility verification through the U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system,
