Metro Inclusive Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike (FQHC-LAL) providing primary care services across all age groups, as well as a range of specialized services such as HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)/Non-occupational Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP), HIV and STI testing and treatment and crossgender hormones. The Physician will provide primary medical care services and selected specialized services, according to their experience and training, to a variety of patients in all age groups.

 

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • The diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions typically in the scope of a primary care physician across all age groups;
  • Ability to perform minor in office procedural skills within the scope of care of a primary care physician, such as skin biopsies, suturing of minor lacerations, etc.
  • Ability to or desire to acquire the skills to provide diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection and Hep C infection in the adult population in an outpatient setting. AAHIVM certification is strongly desired, but not required;
  • The ability to refer patients to medical or surgical specialists as needed and to interface with these specialists; including telephone consultations, review of specialists’ reports and incorporation of findings and recommendations into the overall management of the patient. In all cases, the Physician will act as the Primary Care Provider and coordinate the specialty needs of their patients;
  • Daily review of lab results; daily review of requested medication refills and other tasks required for proper management of a patient panel;
  • Participation in after-hours rotating coverage for the Health Center as well as assigned coverage for other Health Center providers in cases of vacations, conferences, and illness, and overflow. This includes review of other providers’ lab results and medication refill requests;
  • Maintenance of patients’ medical records in the electronic medical record system in accordance with the standards of care
  • Physician is responsible for tracking and maintaining requisites for current medical licensure and Board Certification;
  • Physician will participate in administrative assignments as required

 

Education/Professional:

  • Physician must have either M.D. or D.O degree;
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • A valid license to practice medicine in the State of Florida;
  • Registered by the Drug Enforcement Administration

 

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills;
  • Some computer skills and knowledge, including medical database/electronic medical record operations;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment

Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Must have reliable and accessible auto vehicle.
  • Must pass necessary fingerprinting, Level II background checks and employment eligibility verification through the U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system, https://e-verify.uscis.gov/emp.
