From Stonewall to Pulse

Metro Inclusive Health and SAGE are excited to announce “From Stonewall to Pulse: We’re Still Here,” which will be broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube on June 17th at 7PM.

This annual panel event recognizes the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots: a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations by members of the LGBTQ+ community in response to a NYC police raid on the Stonewall Inn during the early morning of June 28, 1969. The Stonewall Riots marked a historical turning point, sparking unification and organization within the LGBTQ+ community and liberation movements in the U.S.

Join us as we honor the Stonewall generation, center LGBTQ+ history and hear from the people who lived it, and build an intergenerational network of LGBTQ+ people and allies. Panelists will include individuals who experienced the 1960s Stonewall Riots and 1980s HIV AIDS activism, pioneers of the trans rights movement, and queer historians who have dedicated their lives to elevating forgotten narratives. Following the moderated panel, community members are invited to join the discussion! Every story and experience matters. What’s yours?
