About Karen

Karen Daphney brings over 20 years of progressive experience in nonprofit healthcare finance and leadership to her role as Vice President of Finance at METRO. She oversees all aspects of the organization’s financial operations, including accounting, payroll, grants, audits, and pharmacy program fiscal management.

Before stepping into her current role, Karen served as METRO’s Director of Finance, where she successfully directed accounting operations, prepared regulatory reports, and maintained 340B program compliance. She previously held senior finance roles at BayCare Health System, Continental Homecare, and Health Plan Services, where she gained expertise in financial analysis, strategic forecasting, grant administration, and revenue cycle oversight.

Karen holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Arizona and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Florida, with additional training and certifications in ERP systems and financial compliance. Known for her strong analytical skills and commitment to process improvement, Karen has been recognized for cultivating high-performing teams and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
