nPEP Can Prevent HIV
When a Broken Heart is the Least of Your Worries, Close Calls Require nPEP.
In close call situations where prevention was absent or perhaps didn’t work as expected. Taken within 72 hours of a high-risk experience, nPEP can significantly reduce your chances of contracting HIV. Most insurances cover nPEP and Metro Inclusive Health offers cost assistance programs, which can mean little to no out-of-pocket to you.
A short-term treatment, started as soon as possible after high-risk exposure to an infectious agent, such as HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV), or hepatitis C virus (HCV), non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) is administered to significantly reduce the risk of infection.
