Metro Inclusive Health is dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive healthcare services and education to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. We are seeking a passionate Health Educator to join our team and support individuals in achieving optimal health outcomes.

Job Summary

The Health Educator will play a crucial role in educating individuals living with HIV/AIDS on the importance of medical adherence. Through one-on-one support, group facilitation, and collaboration with medical providers, the Health Educator will help clients navigate healthcare systems and access essential services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess service needs and barriers to treatment adherence.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans to improve adherence.
  • Conduct group education sessions using evidence-based research and culturally appropriate materials.
  • Link clients to medical care, case management, housing assistance, and other necessary services.
  • Monitor client health outcomes, track lab results, and document progress.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and community organizations.
  • Provide support in various settings, including community spaces, medical offices, and clients’ homes.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure access to appropriate care.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a human services/health-related field OR equivalent experience in education and HIV prevention.
  • Experience: Minimum one year in a social service setting or related field.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and sensitivity to diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in English; computer literacy required.
  • Strong judgment, adaptability, and ability to work independently.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance.
  • Must pass Level II background check and employment eligibility verification.

Requirements:

  • Must complete all required and ongoing training necessary to maintain current knowledge of HIV treatment and education principles.
