Joseph Paruolo

About Joseph

Meet Dr. Paruolo. Beginning with a BA from the University of Miami, it was his work in HIV research there that shaped his future as an HIV specialist. After earning his MD from the American University of Antigua and completing an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Connecticut, he further specialized in Infectious Diseases at USF. His training was distinguished by his role as a Principal Investigator on HIV and cardiovascular health, along with mission trips to Uganda and Panama.

He brings a wealth of experience from his time in Sarasota, where he blended teaching with practice as an Adjunct Professor for FSU medical students and residents. Dr. Paruolo’s expertise spans office and nursing home care, and he’s board-certified in both Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. At Metro Inclusive Health, he continues to dedicate himself to the complexities of Infectious Diseases, driven by a mission to deliver compassionate and comprehensive care.

Away from work, Dr. Paruolo’s passions include family time, travel, culinary arts, music, woodworking, and the delicate craft of stained glass, reflecting the same care and attention to detail he brings to his patients at METRO.
